Tootin' my own horn!!

I caught one of those great SOOTC (straight-out-of-the-camera) shots last week!  It's the first time I've ever been hired to shoot a horse and it was great!  Of course, shooting a horse that has been with the same person since birth made for an amazing dynamic!  Without further ado...

He got a bit frisky, which was fun!!

And here's one I got just for fun:

Until next time, I pray blessings for you & your family!

Photowalk 2009

Wow!  It was great to be able to participate in Scott Kelby's 2nd Annual Worldwide Photo Walk!  Although Abilene only had 5 photographers show, it was great!  I think we all had fun shooting and I know we've all enjoyed seeing the shots everyone else caught!

As leader, my two hardest jobs were getting people there and choosing only one photo for the "Best of Abilene"... After narrowing it down to three, I've selected the contest entry for Abilene!

Kara Hambrick

Marjohn Riney (yep---I got a good one, too!!)

And the winner is:
Chris Proctor

I can't wait for next year!!!

Power

While at my family reunion last weekend, I was IMMEDIATELY reminded of why black & white photography is so powerful & moving...

Snaps...

We had an amazing weekend and I lots of memory pictures. I was able to grab these two "snapshots" and am quite pleased with them!

Life is getting crazy!

So... I did a senior shoot last weekend that ended up taking 6+ hours! Although I was exhausted, I had a blast and was blessed enough to have a great model! We went all over town and tried to get as many unique shots as possible. In retrospect, I've decided I should NOT be nominated for Photographer of the Year because we did a VERY dangerous thing---we shot near a moving train... a FAST-MOVING train. That being said, it was an amazing experience and she definitely has some wonderfully unique and stunning senior portraits!
