So... I'm new to action/sports photography and it appears to be whippin' my tail... This is the closest thing I've gotten to a "decent" shot and it looks like trash... so, with the next swim meet, I'll be working twice as hard trying to figure this thing out...

Vacation 2009!
We had a blast in Arkansas! Here are some of the 700+ shots I took. (Yes, you read that correctly)! Thank God I've made the transition to digital!!
#1: He was within touching distance---TRULY! Kevin shook the branch above my head and that eagle became VERY interested in the sound! I just KNEW he was coming up that branch toward me!!!
#2: Look closely at his right ear---those are 7 flies! Crazy, huh???
#3: He was part of the Wings of Wonder show---he's only 5 years old and was injured---they hope to have him back in the wild within 2 years:
#4: A red fox during nap time:
#5: Reflection from Blow Out Mountain in Hot Springs, shot from a MOVING horse!!
#6: Cedar Falls in Petit Jean State Park (70 miles north of Little Rock)--required a 2 mile hike down to get the shot, then a 2 mile hike up to get back!!!
#7: The Old Mill in Little Rock
#8: The beauty of the roads we traveled:
#9: Shots from the Fordyce Bath House Museum:
#10: Another from Fordyce
#11: The bridges at The Old Mill:

Tootin' my own horn!!
I caught one of those great SOOTC (straight-out-of-the-camera) shots last week! It's the first time I've ever been hired to shoot a horse and it was great! Of course, shooting a horse that has been with the same person since birth made for an amazing dynamic! Without further ado...
He got a bit frisky, which was fun!!
And here's one I got just for fun:
Until next time, I pray blessings for you & your family!

Photowalk 2009
Wow! It was great to be able to participate in Scott Kelby's 2nd Annual Worldwide Photo Walk! Although Abilene only had 5 photographers show, it was great! I think we all had fun shooting and I know we've all enjoyed seeing the shots everyone else caught!
As leader, my two hardest jobs were getting people there and choosing only one photo for the "Best of Abilene"... After narrowing it down to three, I've selected the contest entry for Abilene!
Kara Hambrick
Marjohn Riney (yep---I got a good one, too!!)
I can't wait for next year!!!

It's been INSANE!!
I volunteered to shoot the class photos for the dance program... and I've designed and completely prepared the entire program... and I've got a scrapbook that I have to complete for a client before June 6... and Mother's Day is Sunday... and I've got two photo shoots coming up in the next couple of weeks... and I'm seriously considering turning part of my game room into a studio... and my child is "graduating" from Kindergarten in 3 weeks... and we're going on vacation soon... and the list goes on & on!!!

Life is getting crazy!
So... I did a senior shoot last weekend that ended up taking 6+ hours! Although I was exhausted, I had a blast and was blessed enough to have a great model! We went all over town and tried to get as many unique shots as possible. In retrospect, I've decided I should NOT be nominated for Photographer of the Year because we did a VERY dangerous thing---we shot near a moving train... a FAST-MOVING train. That being said, it was an amazing experience and she definitely has some wonderfully unique and stunning senior portraits!
